On 1-2 October, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Skopje hosted the Western Balkans Digital Summit, a key regional platform dedicated to innovation and digital transformation. As part of the summit’s cultural and educational program, we were honored to present our Virtual Reality (VR) exhibition on the Macedonian Glagolitic script.
The participation was made possible at the invitation of the Minister of Digital Transformation, Mr. Stefan Andonovski, who recognized the importance of connecting cultural heritage with emerging technologies. Our presentation introduced visitors to the innovative concept of the “Virtual Poster” and the immersive experience of Macedonian Glagolitic letters in VR, demonstrating how historical scripts can be reimagined as living, interactive cultural memory.
During the exhibition, we were honored by the visit of the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mr. Zoran Ljutkov, who expressed strong support for integrating digital tools into cultural heritage promotion and education. His presence underlined the growing collaboration between cultural institutions and the digital innovation sector in North Macedonia.
The VR exhibition engaged summit participants, policy-makers, and international guests in exploring the Glagolitic script in a multisensory, spatial environment, exemplifying the transformative role of technology in preserving and revitalizing cultural heritage.
