Studio for Digital Storytelling – Prof. Camille Baker
This activity marked an important step in connecting cultural heritage research with immersive media practices. During the study visit to the Royal College of Art (RCA), London, I collaborated with the Studio for Digital Storytelling, led by Prof. Camille Baker, to explore new approaches in Virtual Reality (VR) for the transformation of art, with a strong focus on the poster as a medium.
The visit enabled in-depth dialogue with RCA students and professionals, providing valuable opportunities to test concepts and prototypes that integrate historical heritage into immersive environments. This collaboration bridged theoretical research and practical application, laying the groundwork for innovative, interdisciplinary approaches in graphic design and VR-based storytelling.
Key Achievements
- Engaged with students and professionals at RCA to investigate the transformation of heritage in virtual environments.
- Conducted initial tests and discussions on new methods for presenting cultural heritage in immersive spaces.
- Strengthened theoretical and methodological foundations for the ongoing research project in Virtual Reality.
Looking Ahead
Building on this collaboration, future efforts will focus on:
- Joint workshops and experimental labs with RCA’s Studio for Digital Storytelling to further explore VR as a tool for cultural heritage communication.
- Development of interactive prototypes that expand the role of the poster in immersive environments, from conceptual design to audience engagement.
- User experience and digital storytelling research, evaluating how immersive posters influence education, cultural awareness, and creative practice.
- Establishing a long-term partnership to support exchanges between students, researchers, and professionals in both institutions.
